De Klassieker will be the final home match of 2025 on Sunday. After the clash with the Rotterdam side, two away matches remain in this calendar year. On Wednesday, the Ajacieden travel to Excelsior Maassluis (the match will be played at Het Kasteel) in the Dutch Cup. The first half of the season will be concluded on Saturday evening 20 December with an away trip to NEC.
Sunday's match will be edition number 200 of De Klassieker in official competitions, since the first edition in 1921. Ajax have been the stronger side on 94 occasions so far, while Feyenoord have claimed victory 59 times. De Klassieker has ended in a draw 46 times.
The final training session took place in the stadium on Saturday. In the Johan Cruijff ArenA, the finishing touches were applied ahead of VriendenLoterij Eredivisie match number sixteen. After three consecutive wins (2–0 against FC Groningen, 1–3 away at Fortuna Sittard and 2–4 against Qarabağ FK), the Amsterdammers hope to secure a fourth victory.
Ajax – Feyenoord on Sunday will be dedicated to Spieren voor Spieren. Together with ambassador Louis van Gaal, we are calling on as many Ajacieden as possible to support the foundation in its mission to defeat muscle diseases in children.
