Ajax defeated Heracles Almelo 0-2 to secure a seventh consecutive victory. Goals from Davy Klaassen and Sébastien Haller stretched Erik ten Hag’s unbeaten run at the helm to twelve matches.

"I'm not completely satisfied with how we played, but I am about the outcome of the evening as a whole," analysed Davy Klaassen, who made it 0-1 after a quarter-hour. In the closing stages, Sébastien Haller finished off the contest.

Klaassen: “We didn't play our best match, but these conditions are something a bit different. With this cold and an opponent that made it difficult for us, it was tough."

But we picked up the three-points, and that was the most important thing. "Especially looking at the result for PSV, it's nice to have won. If we want to become the champions, we can't drop these kinds of matches. We did have that understanding."
