Hato (Rotterdam, March 7, 2006) joined the Ajax youth academy in the summer of 2018 and made his debut for the first team on 11 January 2023 in the Dutch Cup match away to FC Den Bosch. The international made a total of 111 appearances for Ajax’s first team, scoring four goals.
In 2023, Hato was awarded the Abdelhak Nouri Trophy for the best player in the Ajax youth academy. This past season, the international was named Johan Cruyff Talent of the Year in the Eredivisie.
Alex Kroes: "With Jorrel's departure, we lose one of our key figures in defence. He is not only a tremendous talent and a great player, but he also has an excellent character and personality. Ideally, we would have liked to keep him for at least another year, but we understand that he has now set his sights on this exciting adventure awaiting him in the Premier League. We wholeheartedly wish him well with this new challenge, are proud of what he has done for Ajax, and wish him every success in England."
