Van de Velde has been under contract at Ajax since 2019. This season, she finished with a pass accuracy of 88.9 per cent from 1,775 passes, the highest percentage of any player in the Vrouwen Eredivisie with at least 1,500 passes. That combination of volume and precision underlines her key role in Ajax’s style of play, in which she has consistently been a central figure in the build-up.
In the broader comparison of players with at least 1,000 passes, Van de Velde also ranks among the very best. In that category, she distinguishes herself through her consistency across a large number of matches and her ability to remain accurate under pressure.
In the attacking half, Van de Velde was equally valuable. She recorded 785 passes in that area with an accuracy of 82.3 per cent, placing her among the top-performing midfielders in the league when it comes to progressive play and moving the ball into the final phase.
Alongside her work on the ball, Van de Velde also demonstrated her defensive value. She won a total of 60 ground duels, making her one of the strongest performers in the Ajax squad, with only a few team-mates recording higher numbers. She also registered 17 interceptions.
Her influence was also reflected in team selection. Van de Velde frequently started alongside regular team-mates including Regina van Eijk (18 matches), Danique Noordman (17) and Sherida Spitse (16), underlining her status as a mainstay in Ajax’s preferred line-ups.
