Day two in Italy is done. Under delightful Southern European temperatures once again, the Ajax players were put through a tough training session. With the press watching from the sidelines, the tempo picked up in Como. On to Thursday, on to Matchday.
Ajax has travelled to northern Italy for the second training camp of pre-season. John Heitinga’s squad flew out from Amsterdam on Tuesday and held their first training session later that evening under the Italian sun.
Ajax will depart for Italy on Tuesday afternoon for a training camp. The squad will take part in the Como Cup, which kicks off on Wednesday, July 23. The Amsterdam side will play their first match on Thursday, July 24. Head coach John Heitinga is taking 29 players to Italy.
Ajax defeated KV Mechelen in a friendly match on Saturday. The Ajacieden beat the Belgian side 3-2 thanks to goals from Davy Klaassen, Anton Gaaei and Oliver Edvardsen. The match in Oldebroek lasted a total of 120 minutes.
