Ajax has been informed of a security incident involving its logistics partner CEVA, which is responsible for processing and shipping orders placed via Ajax.nl/shop. At this time, the club is working together with the partner concerned to investigate exactly what happened and what the impact of the incident may be. Although it is not yet clear whether personal data is involved, Ajax considers it important to inform you of this as a precaution.

What do we know at this moment?
Our logistics partner CEVA informed us last Monday that unauthorised individuals may have gained access to part of their systems and data. Once this was discovered, CEVA immediately took measures to secure the systems and prevent any further access. No Ajax systems have been affected. The incident has been limited to CEVA’s systems.

As a precautionary measure, the exchange of data between CEVA and Ajax was immediately suspended. This will only resume once it has been established that it can be done safely. In addition, an investigation has been launched to determine how the incident could have occurred, which systems were affected, and whether personal data is involved.

As a result of the incident, orders and returns are taking longer than usual to process. Ajax and CEVA are doing everything possible to ensure that orders are processed and dispatched as quickly as possible.

What happens next?
Ajax takes this incident very seriously. As a precautionary measure, we have reported the incident to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. Together with CEVA, we are closely monitoring developments.
As soon as the investigation provides greater clarity and information becomes available that is relevant to those affected, we will inform you accordingly.
