The Ajax squad completed their final training session ahead of the home match against Almere City. The kickoff at the Johan Cruijff ArenA is scheduled for Sunday at 14:30. This fixture marks the last home game for the Ajacieden this season.

With two more encounters remaining, Ajax maintains control over the fifth spot in the league standings. The point difference with pursuing teams NEC (two points) and FC Utrecht (three points) remains unchanged since the previous round.

Opponent Almere City secured their Eredivisie status last week. Earlier this season, Ajax drew 2-2 against them in Almere.

Changes within Ajax management

Alex Kroes has stepped down as CEO and chairman of the Board of AFC Ajax NV. Kroes started as the technical director of Ajax and has signed a contract running until June 30, 2026. Ajax had already announced on April 25th that a broad agreement had been reached with him regarding his new role. Consequently, the relevant agenda item of the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders scheduled for May 21st will be cancelled.

FC Volendam – Ajax Highlights | Four Ajax goals in Volendam

Ajax won convincingly in Volendam. Without particularly spectacular play, John van ’t Schip's team won with a wide margin in North Holland. After a score of 0-1 at half-time, the Amsterdammers ran away with it in the second half for a 1-4 victory.
