The first time Henderson played in the ArenA was in 2009. He participated in the Amsterdam Tournament with Sunderland. Sunderland first lost 0-2 against Benfica and won against Atletico Madrid with the same numbers (2-0). Henderson played both matches.
In March 2018, the Dutch national team played a friendly against England, and Henderson played in our stadium for the second time. The Brits won 0-1, and Henderson played for ninety minutes.
The Ajax supporters will mostly remember Henderson from the matches against Liverpool in the Champions League. Ajax and Liverpool met in 2020 and 2022 in the tournament's group stage. Liverpool won both matches in the ArenA.
