Ajax completed their final training session Saturday in the run-up to the fixture with FC Utrecht. The match at the Johan Cruyff ArenA is the last home game this season. Kick-off is Sunday at 2:30pm.

Conditions were perfect at the de Toekomst training ground. A pleasant temperature, gentle breeze and a sleek pitch. The Ajax squad started the training session with a few running drills and then continued with various set pieces.

Ajax are in third place in the Eredivisie with two more league fixtures to go. John Heitinga's team is lagging five points behind number two position, PSV. They are two points ahead of AZ. The Amsterdam team will end the season in round 34, with an away match against FC Twente.

In pictures | Getting past the clash with Groningen

It always feels better having three points in your pocket. The Ajax squad managed to get Tuesday's game out of their system on Wednesday at the de Toekomst training ground. John Heitinga's team won the continuation of the FC Groningen – Ajax match 3-2. The game was abandoned Sunday after nine minutes, because of fireworks on the pitch - twice.
