On Saturday, Ajax finalised its final preparations ahead of the home game against NEC. John Heitinga’s team will meet the squad from Nijmegen in the 24th play round in the Johan Cruyff ArenA.

Ajax – NEC is the second match this week for the Ajax players. Three days after the 0-3 victory in the Dutch Cup, NEC will travel to Amsterdam on Sunday. Thanks to the victory in Doetinchem, John Heitinga’s team qualified for the semi-finals of the Dutch Cup.

With eleven competition matches ahead of them, all focus was on the Eredivisie during the training on Saturday. At sports complex De Toekomst, a final training was held. With an extensive warmup, several passing exercises, and mini-games, the squad put the finishing touches to their preparation.

Ajax – NEC will be played at 16:45 on Sunday in the Johan Cruyff ArenA.

With goals from Davy Klaassen and Edson Álvarez, Ajax won on Sunday afternoon with a score of 1-2 at Vitesse in Arnhem. With the hard-fought victory, Ajax keep their sights on the leader Feyenoord, who also won. The difference between them remains three points.
