The competition clash against PSV casts its shadow. John Heitinga’s players know what to do in Eindhoven on Sunday. To maintain the second place, victory is the only acceptable result in the City of Light. The intense training session on Wednesday was a good preparation ahead of the Eredivisie clash.

The Amsterdam-based team had a training session full of variety at sports complex de Toekomst. All in order to show up to the kick-off in the Philips Stadium as strong as possible. Under sunny, but chilly circumstances, the players worked up a sweat. The exercises were familiar but challenging: mini-games and intensive football and technique exercises.

Ajax has to play without the suspended Edson Álvarez. The Mexican did join the team on the training pitch on Wednesday. Even though the multifunctional player is suspended, Álvarez was present to make sure the team had the best preparation possible.

Brobbey and Mazraoui
Last season, Ajax won 1-2 on the Brabant grounds. Brian Brobbey and Noussair Mazraoui were responsible for the goals on January 23, 2023. Another victory on PSV would be welcome in the final phase of the season. Including the traditional 'Topper', the 2022/2023 Eredivisie season only has 5 play rounds left. Besides the match in the City of Lights, the Dutch Cup final will also be played against the team from Eindhoven. Predicting football fixtures is not easy, but one thing is clear: the coming matchdays won’t be boring.
