The Ajax team was training at de Toekomst sports complex on Tuesday afternoon in the run-up to the championship match against sc Heerenveen. With a win, Erik ten Hag's team will officially seize the 36th national title in club history.
With just four points difference behind number two PSV and with two matches still to play, Ajax is on match point to become the Eredivisie champion. And with that in mind, the players were looking sharp in the final training session before the eighth Eredivisie match.

It was Super Sunday in the Eredivisie. Ajax drew 2-2 at AZ. In the final stages, Edson Álvarez helped Ajax to rescue one point. Despite the loss on points, it was still a great Sunday. This was because later in the day Feyenoord – PSV finished 2-2, meaning that the four-point lead remains intact and Ajax will have an opportunity to take the 36th national title on Wednesday against Heerenveen.
After an intense duel on Sunday afternoon, Ajax shared the points with AZ. In Alkmaar the Ajax players were unable to get any further than a 2-2 draw. Shortly before half time, Brian Brobbey scored the first goal, but the Alkmaar team turned the scoreline round in the second half. Edson Álvarez scored the important equaliser in the 86th minute.
Ajax completed their final training session at de Toekomst on Saturday in the run-up to the all-important match game against AZ. Erik ten Hag's team is all set to meet the current Eredivisie number five.
