Ajax kick off season with home win over Telstar
Ajax, led by Wout Weghorst, started the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie with a win. The striker found the net twice against Telstar, in a match that ended 2-0.

Ajax's opening match of the new season against Telstar on Sunday afternoon resulted in a victory. The Amsterdam side were too strong for their opponents in the Johan Cruijff ArenA, winning 2–0. Wout Weghorst opened the scoring in the first half and sealed the win in the closing stages.
