"The lads were giving it their all. They wanted to fight for each other and in the second half they played some great football at times. We had great opportunities from the start, but we have to take them. Luck also has something to do with it. It plays a part, but you just have to score," continued Heitinga.
Heitinga is being realistic. "The pressure is always on, but the ref's whistle also needs to be heard signalling goals. This is a tricky season and there have to be goals to make the difference. I'm constantly working with the squad to get them into the best possible shape for the next match. Play on the pitch could have been better, but there were times I saw Ajax in better shape than last week".
"This season is not like recent ones, and we have to work really hard to make things improve again," concluded Heitinga.
