The visitors wasted no time in taking the lead. After an impressive solo run from Mika Godts on the left flank, the ball deflected off several Almere defenders and landed at Taylor’s feet. The midfielder unleashed a powerful strike, finding the net via the inside of the post: 0-1.

The remainder of the first half saw little action. Ajax controlled possession but failed to create many attacking opportunities. Just before halftime, Godts had a golden chance when he broke through on goal, but his effort found only the side netting. Brian Brobbey, who had made the supporting run, was visibly frustrated at not receiving the pass.

In the second half, Ajax had to focus on defending. Almere City took the initiative, with Kornelius Hansen hitting the crossbar following an error from goalkeeper Matheus, who misjudged a situation and ventured too far out. Fortunately for Ajax, the woodwork kept their lead intact. The team held firm in the closing stages to secure the three points.

With this victory, Ajax now sits eight points ahead of PSV, with ten matches remaining in the Eredivisie season.
