Ajax and FC Metz have reached an agreement on the transfer of Georges Mikautadze. The striker was on a loan spell at the French club for the past six months, with a purchase option included in the agreement. This option has been exercised, making the transfer of the 23-year-old attacker permanent. Ajax agreed with the French club on a transfer fee of € 13 million. The Georgian international's contract with Ajax ran until June 30, 2028.

Mikautadze (Lyon, October 31, 2000) joined Ajax from FC Metz last summer, the club he is now permanently returning to. He debuted for Ajax on September 3, 2023, during the away match against Fortuna Sittard: 0-0. In total, Mikautadze played nine times for Ajax's first team.
