Fred Grim has been appointed as assistant coach to the Ajax 1 technical staff. Grim (60) previously served as Head of Coaching within Ajax's youth academy. The former Ajax and Cambuur goalkeeper spent many years in various coaching roles at Ajax, Sparta, Almere City, RKC, Willem II, Emmen, the Netherlands U21s and the Dutch national team before returning to Ajax as Head of Coaching.

Technical director Alex Kroes said, "John, Marijn and I were looking to strengthen the technical staff. John suggested adding Fred Grim. With Fred, we are bringing in quality and a wealth of experience, both on the training pitch and on the bench during matches. We aim to further strengthen the staff around the team to improve sporting results as well as the development of our playing style and individual players."
