Final training session in run-up to Jagiellonia Białystok at home

Ajax completed their final training session Wednesday afternoon in the run-up to the clash against Jagiellonia Białystok at home. At the de Toekomst training centre, manager Francesco Farioli's Ajax squad laid the preparations for the return leg in the UEFA Europa League play-offs.

Farioli and Remko Pasveer held a press conference in the Johan Cruyff ArenA earlier on Wednesday. The Italian manager talked about Ajax's upcoming opponents, the transfer window and Steven Berghuis, who will be absent from the match squad on Thursday. Berghuis took a knock in training. He will not be playing on Thursday.

Following the press event, the Ajax squad put some finishing touches to preparations for the European fixture against Jagiellonia Białystok. The Amsterdam team won the first leg in Poland 4-1, thanks to goals from Chuba Akpom (3) and Mika Godts. Ajax v Jagiellonia Białystok kicks off at 8 pm on Thursday evening in the Johan Cruyff ArenA.

Steven Berghuis will miss the UEFA Europa League preliminary round match against Jagiellonia Białystok on Thursday. The man providing the assist for Chuba Akpom's 1-1 in Poland received a knock in training on Tuesday. He is therefore not in the match day squad, coach Francesco Farioli reported Wednesday afternoon during the press conference at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

Convincing victory for Ajax in Poland

Ajax secured a commanding 1-4 victory in their away match against Jagiellonia Białystok in Poland. The Amsterdam-based side saw goals from Mika Godts (1) and a hat trick from Chuba Akpom (3). This gives Ajax a great starting position for the match next week and a possible qualification for the UEFA Europa League play-offs.
