Farioli, together with Henderson, was open and cheerful on the eve of his first official match as Ajax manager. "I will let the players know the opening line-up tomorrow morning. The long series of pre-season friendlies have let me get to know the players better. We deliberately chose a new line-up for each match in the pre-season friendlies so we could see the chemistry between different players. The competition among them has been tough. There will be eleven starting tomorrow, and most importantly that will be our 'starting point'. More than anything, it will be a team effort over the entire season," said the manager.
Henderson has already played in European matches for Ajax, whereas Farioli will be making his debut on Thursday. "I'm looking forward to the atmosphere in the Johan Cruyff ArenA. But it's not all about tomorrow. We will fight really hard and ultimately get through to the main tournament. We're quite confident we can achieve that."
