They will face PSV at the Johan Cruyff ArenA Saturday, kick-off at 6:45 pm. "They almost always score, and in good numbers. They can do this from various positions, which speaks volumes. They can excel in one-on-one situations, but also with crossing or down the wings. They are good on the ball and regroup well when they lose possession. It's hard to say exactly how to stop them."
Favourites
"I think PSV," Farioli continues on being asked who the favourites are. "We're talking here about a team who won the league cup last season by a wide margin, and are now doing very well again. But that's not say what the final result will be on Saturday."
The manager had some kind words for his opposite number, Peter Bosz. "This is a manager who has also made an impact here and I have only respect for him. He is a manager who lets his team play how they know best. They are very strong on the attack. They've been scoring so many goals since he's been there and conceding so few. They are rock solid and know exactly what to do at any given moment. All credit to him."
Details
"Playing that sort of team, you have to go for the small details to get anywhere," said Farioli. "It's unusual to be playing perhaps our two most important games back to back. We know we're in good spirits after Wednesday, but the match against PSV is coming up. We will do everything we can and play things our way. At home, in front of our own fans, we want to go all out. We need to be ready for anything which comes our way. The atmosphere will be quite something tomorrow."
Berghuis, Taylor and Brobbey
"We're going to train as we are and then see how everyone is doing," Farioli said about his squad's fitness. "Steven Berghuis had a very good day yesterday and that is encouraging. He was able to train without pain or worry. We'll see how he feels today." It's also a case of wait and see with Kenneth Taylor. "He was having some trouble with his calf. We'll have to see how he's doing today. And will Brian Brobbey play? He has played well against them several times in the past, but we will have to see," laughs Farioli.
