09:00 – Arrival
In the morning, the Ajacieden arrive one by one at De Toekomst training complex. After a handshake and a greeting, the players and staff make their way through the corridors of the facility to the dressing room. The day can begin.
09:15 – Meeting
Once all of Nuijten's players are present, a team meeting follows immediately. Using video footage of previous matches, different game situations are analysed. Both attacking and defensive aspects are discussed thoroughly and in an interactive way.
09:30 – Physio
In the treatment room, the players are taken care of before that day's training session begins.
09:45 – Prep
The next stop before heading out onto the pitch: the gym. Muscles are warmed up with core exercises and stretching routines. Weights are also part of the programme.
10:30 – Training
The Ajacieden move out onto the pitch. The morning training session is about to start. In the dug-out, boots are laced up, and then it's time for an intense session. Nuijten leads, explains, and keeps a close eye on everything.
12:00 – Lunch
Training is done. In De Toekomst canteen, it's time for lunch. And that new energy is needed, because another session still lies ahead.
13:00 – Strength
Back to the gym. It's time for the strength block. Bench press, pull-ups, deadlifts; everything comes along. The body is pushed to its limits.
14:00 – Individual meetings
In the boardroom, players are discussed individually with the help of video clips. Where was more courage needed, or how could a situation have been handled better? Or where was it executed perfectly? The Ajacieden see their own play from a different angle, and these images give them insights for the matches to come. After the talks, the day comes to an end.
On Wednesday afternoon at 15:00 at De Toekomst, Ajax U19 will play their first Youth League match against Inter. Want to be there? Get your tickets via the button below.
