Following an early push from the home side, Ajax took control in the first half, creating chances through Chuba Akpom, Wout Weghorst, and Davy Klaassen. However, against the run of play, FC Twente took the lead just before halftime as Michel Vlap capitalized on a defensive error, scoring with a fine strike.
In the second half, Davy Klaassen scored the equalizer, marking his 99th goal for Ajax. But the joy was short-lived, as Vlap netted again, putting Twente back in front.
Ajax didn’t take long to respond. Kenneth Taylor, in excellent form, delivered a precise cross, which Bertrand Traoré slotted in to make it 2-2. The scoreline remained unchanged.
The international break begins on Monday. Ajax’s next match will be a home fixture in the Eredivisie against PEC Zwolle, scheduled for Sunday, 24 November, with kickoff at 16:45 at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.
