Denny Landzaat appointed Ajax assistant coach

Denny Landzaat has been added to the first team's technical staff with immediate effect. The 49-year-old Amsterdam native appeared on the training pitch today in his new role as assistant coach to Fred Grim. Like Paul Nuijten, who was promoted earlier, he will remain in place as an assistant for at least as long as Grim is in charge. Urby Emanuelson was already part of the first team's coaching staff.

Landzaat followed the entire youth academy in Amsterdam and played two official matches for the first team. During his career, he also played for AZ, Feyenoord, FC Twente and the Dutch national team.

After ending his playing career, he turned his attention to coaching, where he has now gained around ten years of experience in various roles. He previously worked with Fred Grim at Willem II in the 2021/2022 season. His most recent position was as assistant coach of Indonesia, where he worked alongside head coach Patrick Kluivert.
