Danny Blind has announced his decision to leave Ajax’s Supervisory Board (RvC). Blind will remain in his position until a successor has been found and appointed. The search for a suitable replacement will begin shortly. Once a suitable candidate has been identified, an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (BAVA) will be convened for their nomination.

Blind has been a board member as football commissioner since April 2018. He served as assistant national coach for seven years, with an interruption of two years. Blind’s term as football commissioner was scheduled to run until the end of the General Meeting of Shareholders (AVA) of 2027.

Blind states that personal reasons underlie his decision: "There is a time to come and a time to go. I look back with satisfaction on the sporting successes of the past. I hope the road upwards will continue. For me, it is good to be able to focus my attention more on other matters."

Carolien Gehrels, chair of the Supervisory Board: "Danny Blind has meant a great deal to Ajax. Danny played 493 matches for the club, and in 1995, he was the captain of the golden team that won the Champions League. For decades, he has been involved in various roles: player, head of youth academy, coach, technical director and commissioner. He has made a difference both on a sporting and organisational level. We thank him for his long, intensive and professional commitment to Ajax. As the Supervisory Board, we look back on an exceptionally good and pleasant collaboration over the past months."
