Ajax and Jinairo Johnson have reached an agreement on a new contract. The 18-year-old defender’s new deal runs until June 30, 2028. His previous contract was set to expire in mid-2026.

Johnson (Amsterdam, April 8, 2007) has been part of Ajax’s youth academy since 2013, after joining from partner club AVV Zeeburgia. The Amsterdam-born player has featured in several youth teams and, just like last season, is part of Ajax U23 this season. He made his professional debut on January 13, 2025, in the away match against Jong AZ.
Marijn Beuker: "Jinairo is a strong central defender who can also play as a controlling midfielder. In addition to his defensive strength, he is technically skilled and possesses a good dribble, enabling him to carry the play forward. Jinairo is making excellent progress, and we hope he can continue along this path. We certainly have confidence in a bright future for him at Ajax."
