The 39-year-old Biesta had been serving in the role on an interim basis since May 2024 and has been working at Ajax in various positions since the end of 2014, including as Head of Marketing & Partnerships. Prior to that, he worked as a sports marketer and as an editor in football. At Ajax, Biesta is and will remain ultimately responsible for the club’s marketing and commercial revenue.
Chief Executive Officer Menno Geelen: "Cas has been active at Ajax for over ten years, the past year as interim Commercial Director. He has made a major contribution to the commercial success of the club, including the growth in partnership revenues and the impactful marketing approach. The many distinctive campaigns, the introduction of Ajax Resale, and the renewal and conclusion of business contracts have become a success, thanks in part to Cas and his departments. As the board, we look forward to continuing our collaboration with Cas."
Biesta: "I will be taking on the role of Commercial Director for a longer period with pride and great enthusiasm. The collaboration within the board is strong, and everyone’s role is very clear. In addition, many enthusiastic and capable professionals work within our club, making it a great environment to work in. We will continue on the current commercial path, including the ambition that belongs to Ajax to be ever more successful, creative and impactful in all areas. Football and our fans will always remain central to that."
