Carolien Gehrels steps down as Chair of the Supervisory Board

Carolien Gehrels has decided to step down with immediate effect as a member and Chair of the Supervisory Board (RvC) of AFC Ajax NV. The search for a successor will begin shortly. Once a suitable candidate has been identified, a nomination will be submitted to the General Meeting of Shareholders in accordance with the applicable procedure.

Gehrels was appointed during the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGM) on February 10, 2025. Her term was set to run until the annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) in 2028. Since 2014, Gehrels has served as a director at Arcadis, a publicly listed design and engineering consultancy.

Gehrels said: "Over the past seven months, I have greatly enjoyed serving as Chair of Ajax’s Supervisory Board. However, the time commitment has proven to be so substantial that it is no longer compatible with my other professional responsibilities. This is a good and responsible moment to step down. I wish Ajax every success."
