Steven Bergwijn seemed affected after the defeat to AZ when asked by the press to give his view of the match. "It was a terrible game for us. It's not for lack of will among the lads. We work hard, but the group is lacking a lot of confidence."

"At the pace we played today, you wouldn't wear anyone down," Bergwijn continued. "Together with someone like Kenneth Taylor, I tried to turn the match around and get the lads going. We understand Ajax's game the best, but it's a very difficult situation."

Bergwijn emphasised that they need to do better in the coming weeks. "The play wasn't pretty, and no one wants that. We need to do a good analysis and move on to the next match. We'll do everything to turn the tide."

Kenneth Taylor also seemed disappointed. "Once again, it wasn't good enough, we just didn't play well," the Ajax midfielder was clear.

The lines were very far apart against AZ. "We felt it on the field too and honestly, it's hard. But from a defensive standpoint, I have to make it as difficult as possible for my direct opponent. Unfortunately we weren't able to turn it around."
