Ajax and adidas are honouring a unique part of the club's history with this special baseball line. "I've always liked baseball jerseys anyway. And if you can have an Ajax baseball jersey, that makes it even better," says Davy Klaassen. "Baseball is my favourite sport after football. I would've loved to play baseball at the club during the summer as well."
The Ajax academy graduate is not only a loyal club man, but probably also the biggest baseball fan in the Ajax first-team squad. Though there may soon be more Ajacieden who become fans of the originally American sport. "Looks good, it looks great," Youri Regeer briefly and succinctly concludes upon first seeing the stylish jersey.
Alongside Klaassen and Regeer, Maher Carrizo, Aaron Bouwman, and Sean Steur were also present at the photoshoot on a baseball field. The same applied to Ajax Women players Ranneke Derks, Mirte van Koppen, Lina Touzani, and Bo van Egmond. Dressed in the new Ajax baseball outfits, the Ajacieden played a game of baseball.
