"Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and AS Roma are great teams to play against. They are also strong teams, namely a top club from Germany, France and Italy. I expect wonderful posters," was Bakker's first reaction after the draw in Nyon.
Johan Cruyff ArenA
The Ajax Women will play their group matches in the Women's Champions League at the Johan Cruyff ArenA. "Many girls played against Feyenoord at the stadium for the first time last season, but for some girls it will also be new. It is fantastic that we get to play three times in the Johan Cruyff ArenA with hopefully a lot of supporters."
"It will not be because of the clubs we have drawn, because they are appealing names. I expect the girls to be encouraged by a large amount of people," Bakker said.
Pool of death
A big challenge awaits the Ajax Women. "If you have to designate a pool as the 'pool of death', I think it is Group C. It is a really tough pool, but at the same time a very nice stage on which we get to show ourselves," Bakker said, hoping for a big success. "We will make things as difficult as possible and we have shown in the past that we can get excellent results against top clubs."
