Anna Knol signs three-year contract with Ajax

Ajax has reached an agreement with Anna Knol regarding the transfer of the defender to Amsterdam. Knol has signed a contract in Amsterdam that will come into effect this summer and run until 30 June 2029.

Knol (June 13, 2001, Nibbixwoud) began her professional career in 2017 with VV Alkmaar. After three seasons in Alkmaar, she made the move to Italian Empoli. In 2022, she returned to the Azerion Vrouwen Eredivisie, joining Fortuna Sittard. Over the past two seasons, she played for FC Twente. During her time in Enschede, she enjoyed a successful spell in which she won the league title once and won the Dutch Cup twice.

Ajax Women's technical manager Dolf Roks: "With the arrival of Anna, we are adding extra experience to our young squad. She has established herself in the Azerion Vrouwen Eredivisie as a strong defender who remains calm and reads the game well. In addition, she is technically skilled and capable of playing in multiple positions. We are convinced Anna will be an important addition to the further development of our team."
