Ajax – Sparta will be the club's 31st Eredivisie match of the season. Following the defeat to FC Utrecht, three home fixtures remain (Sparta, NEC and FC Twente), along with one away match: FC Groningen. Ajax currently hold a six-point lead over second-placed PSV.
On the training pitch at the De Toekomst complex, the Ajax players were hard at work on Friday. The home clash against Sparta kicks off at 14:30 on Sunday afternoon.
AFC Ajax NV and Alex Kroes have been informed by the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM), as the supervisory authority of the financial markets, about investigations that have been concluded. The AFM has indicated it will not impose any sanctions.
Francesco Farioli made it clear immediately after Sunday’s away match against FC Utrecht: the page has been turned, and Ajax’s focus is now fully on this Sunday’s home clash with Sparta. "I want to see a strong response."
