The trophy was presented by the family of Abdelhak Nouri and the Head of the Youth Academy, Saïd Ouaali. Sixteen-year-old van Axel Dongen was born in Almere and joined Ajax from amateur club OSV in the 2013/2014 season. Due to his creativity and speed, he developed into an eye-catcher at the training ground known as the Toekomst.

The talented left winger was set to play with the Ajax U18 squad this season, but the corona crisis threw a spanner in the works in that regard. However, his development was so significant that van Axel Dongen was included in the Young Ajax squad by trainer Mitchell van der Gaag.

On May 5 of this year, Van Axel Dongen made his professional football debut against De Graafschap. He brightened up his debut in Young Ajax with an assist. A week later, he scored in his second game in the reserves team, against Telstar.
