Could it get any better? Two days before Carrizo celebrates his twentieth birthday, and therefore still just a teenager, the winger made his debut on the training pitch on Tuesday. At sports complex De Toekomst, the newly signed Ajax player - dressed in his training kit - blended in smoothly among his brand-new team-mates.
Eligible to play
In the week in which he received his work permit and is therefore eligible to play, there is quiet hope for a swift debut. The coming period will reveal when the South American can make his first official competitive minutes.

Ajax and NEC are hardly separated from one another in the standings of the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie this season. Ajax overtook NEC in the table last weekend. After the emphatic 4–1 victory over Fortuna Sittard at the ArenA, Ajax have one point more.
Snowfall
The Gelderlanders did start their league match against Sparta on Sunday. However, that match was abandoned early on due to persistent snowfall. NEC therefore still have a match in hand.
On Tuesday evening, both teams will make a new attempt at Het Kasteel to complete the match. Whatever the outcome may be; with second-placed Feyenoord in sight, the battle for second place remains exceptionally exciting.
The 2025/2026 season has eleven matchdays remaining from this weekend onwards. Ajax are pulling out all the stops to overtake their rivals. With new signing Carrizo in their ranks.
