Ajax win last Eredivisie match of the season

Ajax have ended the last match of the Eredivisie with a victory. The match in the Johan Cruijff ArenA ended 2-0. Francesco Farioli’s team finished in second place in the Eredivisie ranking and will play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

After the 0-3 loss against NEC last Sunday, Ajax were keen on ending their Eredivisie season with a victory. They started the first half with fire, hunting for a goal. Jordan Henderson scored the first goal of the match in the 28th minute after a precise pass from Youri Regeer. It was Henderson’s first goal of the season. Both teams continued to look for the goal but went into the dressing room at a 1-0 score.

The second half started with Ajax again looking for opportunities. Wout Weghorst found one, but his goal was disallowed in the 57th minute. Substitute Bertrand Traoré sprinted down the right wing and delivered a low cross that Wout Weghorst finished in the 90th minute, making the final score 2-0.
