Ajax did not manage to score in the first half. In the second half, Josip Šutalo gave Ajax the lead. Six minutes later, Vojvodina equalised with an own goal scored by Šutalo. Hato found the net from the edge of the penalty box and scored the 1-2 in the 85th minute. Bertrand Traoré scored the 1-3 in the extra time, making his first match since his return to the Amsterdam-based team extra special.
Thanks to this victory, Ajax will advance to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. Next week, they will face Panathinaikos in Greece. The return leg will take place one week later.
