Ajax swallow their second defeat of the season

Ajax had to accept defeat in the Eredivisie on Saturday evening, for the second time this season. They lost 1-2 to FC Twente at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. The Amsterdam goal was landed from the spot by Dusan Tadic. Both Twente goals came from the foot of former Ajax player, Queensy Menig.

So for Ajax this was a bad dress rehearsal for their all-deciding game against Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

Erik ten Hag took the blame after. "It didn't look like the team were ready to play. That's always the trainer's job. I told them beforehand where the gaps were in FC Twente: behind their wingers. And we did nothing about it. It was too sluggish."
