Ajax has reached an agreement with Nayomi Buikema and PEC Zwolle for the transfer of the midfielder. Buikema has signed a contract in Amsterdam until June 30, 2027, with an option for an additional season.

Buikema (born in Groningen on May 5, 2004) made her debut in the Azerion Women's Eredivisie with sc Heerenveen on 28 March 2021. Since the summer of 2023, the 20-year-old midfielder has been playing for PEC Zwolle. This past summer, Buikema featured for the Netherlands U20 team at the World Cup in Colombia.

Technical director Alex Kroes said: "We are very pleased to have strengthened our squad with Nayomi. She is a defensive midfielder who reads the game well and excels at linking up play. Nayomi is a reliable player with great potential, and we have confidence in a bright future for her at Ajax."
