Traoré was born on September 6, 1995, in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso. In the 2016/17 season, he reached the UEFA Europa League final with Ajax while on loan. During that season, Traoré played 39 matches and scored thirteen goals. After leaving Ajax, the versatile forward played for Olympique Lyon, Aston Villa, and Istanbul Başakşehir, before being signed by Spanish club Villarreal CF last winter.
Technical Director Alex Kroes: "We are very happy with Bertrand's arrival. He had multiple options, including staying in Spain, but he consciously chose Ajax. In our conversations, it was clear that he is hungry to achieve success here. These are the players we are looking for. Additionally, Bertrand is goal-oriented, fast, and can play in multiple forward positions. Given his experience, he is also a valuable addition to our squad."
