Ajax has signed Kelvin de Lang. De Lang will be Head of Scouting per August 4, 2023. He is the successor of Henk Veldmate, who will return to FC Groningen after seven years at Ajax. De Lang has reached an agreement with Ajax on a contract that runs until June 30, 2027. He is currently working at Manchester City as head of talent partnerships and placements.

De Lang (Amsterdam, December 24, 1980) is in possession of a CIOS-diploma, an UEFA A License and finished the HBO study Sport Management at the Johan Cruyff University. De Lang trained several youth teams at HFC Haarlem from 2002 to 2005, after which he had multiple different roles in scouting, recruitment, and marketing at three different management agencies from 2005 till 2017. He moved to England in 2017 to start working in the scouting department of the current Premier League champion: Manchester City. In his new position at Ajax, De Lang will lead the Scouting department and report to Director of Football Mislintat.

Henk Veldmate will leave Ajax. The Head of Scouting will return to his former employer, FC Groningen. Veldmate came to Amsterdam in 2016 to start leading the scouting department. Up until that moment, he had that same position in Groningen. Before his transfer to Ajax, Veldmate worked over 33 years for the current number seventeen of the Eredivisie.
