Kasper Dolberg capped off his performance against Willem II with a goal in the closing stages of Ajax's match against the Tilburg side. It was a strike he had already come close to scoring earlier in the game, but more importantly, it added extra value to what had already been an impressive display in the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie clash at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. Ahead of the match against Willem II, Ajax head coach Míchel Sánchez explained that Tolu would start on the bench. The striker who had led the line in recent weeks had been unwell but was still keen to be part of the matchday squad. That opened the door for Dolberg to take his chance, and he seized the opportunity with both hands.

The Danish forward played a key role for Ajax against the visitors from Tilburg, recording two assists and a goal. With that goal and two assists, Kasper Dolberg was directly involved in three league goals in the same match for the first time since 23 April 2025. At the time, he was playing for RSC Anderlecht and was even involved in four goals in a single match.


The attacker has now made 157 appearances for Ajax across two spells at the club. And in those 157 matches, Tuesday evening marked the first time he both provided two assists and scored in the same game.

The Dane also found the net last Saturday. It was the first time since February 2019, during his first spell with Ajax, that he had scored in two consecutive matches.

Looking a little closer at his performance against Willem II, his touches inside the opposition penalty area stand out in particular. He recorded twelve touches in Willem II's box. Only Oscar Gloukh (26) managed more touches in that area of the pitch.

In addition, sixteen of his 23 passes found a teammate, while he won both aerial duels he contested. All in all, it was an excellent evening for the 28-year-old Ajax player.
