Ajax recorded an emphatic away win against Fortuna Sittard on Saturday evening, running out 1-5 winners. Five different players found the net for Ajax: Julian Brandt, Thilo Kehrer, Davy Klaassen, Kasper Dolberg and Youri Baas.

Ajax started brightly in Sittard and created the first opportunities through Tolu and Steven Berghuis. Just over half an hour into the match, Marc ter Stegen was called into action when the home side broke forward. The goalkeeper denied Ole Romeny with a fine save.

That moment appeared to spark Ajax into life before the break. Julian Brandt opened the scoring with a stunning volley to give the visitors a 0-1 lead.

Fortuna Sittard equalised shortly after the restart following a counter-attack, and for a brief spell the match looked evenly poised. However, Ajax quickly regained control. Thilo Kehrer restored the lead with a headed goal, and the visitors never looked back.

Goals from Davy Klaassen and Kasper Dolberg followed in quick succession as the score rapidly moved from 1-2 to 1-4. Deep into stoppage time, Youri Baas added a fifth to complete an impressive Ajax victory.

Noteworthy
Kehrer's contribution was particularly noteworthy. With a goal and an assist he became the first defender this century to be directly involved in two goals on his first VriendenLoterij Eredivisie start for Ajax.
