Born in Veldhoven on 7 August 2004, Aertssen swapped Sparta's youth academy for Ajax's in 2019. On 11 January this year, Aertssen made his first-team debut during the KNVB Cup match FC Den Bosch - Ajax (0-2). So far, this was the youth international's only game in the main squad.
In addition, Aertssen played a total of 27 times for Ajax U23, the selection to which the right winger belongs.
