Ajax concluded its training camp with a 1-1 draw against Aarhus GF in Hattem, the number six from the Danish league last season.

Three players — Youri Baas, Josip Šutalo, and Wout Weghorst — made their first minutes of the pre-season as they started the match. In the first 30 minutes, both teams were evenly matched. Toward the end of the first half, Ajax increased the pressure but couldn’t break the deadlock, despite several chances.

After the break, Ajax fielded an entirely new eleven. That quickly paid off, as just seven minutes into the second half, Sean Steur opened the scoring after a strong run and finish following a pass from Bertrand Traoré.

However, the lead didn’t last long. Just over ten minutes later, Stefen Erwan Tchamche equalized for the Danish side, and the score remained unchanged for the rest of the match.

Ajax’s next pre-season friendly will be on Wednesday at the Toekomst, where they will face Greek side PAOK.
