Ajax started the match on the front foot, creating a few early half-chances without truly testing the goalkeeper. As the first half progressed, the tempo dropped, and the game settled into a more cautious rhythm, with both sides struggling to create clear-cut opportunities.
The second half opened with a dangerous moment for Feyenoord, but their effort drifted wide of the target. Ajax gradually grew into the game and found the breakthrough in the 54th minute. Steur finished impressively to make it 1–0, marking a special moment as it was his first-ever goal for Ajax’s first team. However, the visitors continued to search for an equaliser and were given a lifeline in the 84th minute. A penalty was awarded after a foul by Kian Fitz-Jim inside the box. Jakub Moder stepped up and calmly converted from the spot, bringing Feyenoord level at 1–1. In the closing stages, both teams pushed for a winner, but neither side could find a decisive second goal.
The Ajacieden will now head into an international break. The next VriendenLoterij Eredivisie match will take place on Saturday, April 4, when Ajax will take on FC Twente at home. The match in the Johan Cruijff ArenA will start at 21:00.
