The three footballers who feature in the leads in the documentary all came through the ranks of the famous Ajax youth academy. They quickly followed one another into the Ajax first team. The documentary on Prime Video gives a special insight into their lives. Gravenberch, Timber and Rensch all reached the Ajax first team at different times, but then went on to become strongholds in the A squad. Unique behind-the-scenes footage shows what it takes to earn your place in the Ajax first team as a young player, then go on to develop and find success as an Ajax player. The documentary is a story packed with expectation, doubt, moments of victory and setbacks.
Menno Geelen: "In recent years, Ajax has constantly been approached by global streaming services wanting to make an 'access all areas' documentary with us. We have shied away from this for various reasons. But we have always wanted to produce and air something exclusive, and this has now been made a reality with the cameras following Ryan, Jurriƫn and Devyne closely over one year. This would not have been possible without their full cooperation, nor without positive contributions from other players and staff members as well as friends and family of the trio. So we are hugely grateful to all those involved."
"The result is a unique portrayal of the three players in question, made by our own media department. The fact that the documentary is now on Prime Video says a lot about the quality of the documentary and ensures that a large international audience will be able to watch it."
The premiere screening on Tuesday, 27 September is not only exclusive to players and their guests, but also to priority customers of main sponsors VodafoneZiggo via Priority.nl.
