This week, Marijn Beuker (Director of Football) and Corné Groenendijk (Ajax Coaching Academy) are visiting partner club Gamba Osaka on behalf of Ajax. The trip to Japan is part of the collaboration with the Asian football club. In April, a delegation from Gamba Osaka visited Amsterdam for the official launch of the partnership.

The purpose of the visit is to get to know the club from Japan better. In Osaka, Beuker and Groenendijk will inspect the facilities of the youth academy and the first team. They will also observe the training sessions of the youth teams and the first team. Additionally, there will be presentations from both Ajax and Gamba Osaka. This way, colleagues from both countries will get to know each other better.

For Ajax, this partnership is an important opportunity to strengthen its global football network and identify young talents in the Japanese football landscape. Gamba Osaka, in turn, gains access to the Ajax training philosophy to enhance its youth development program.
