Ajax had an early scare in the opening stages. Junior Kadile appeared to have opened the scoring but was flagged for a foul on Devyne Rensch. After that, Ajax took control of the game.
Weghorst quickly put Ajax ahead 1-0 after Davy Klaassen neatly set him up with a chest pass. Taylor doubled the lead in the first half with a delightful lob.
In the second half, Francesco Farioli’s side had no trouble containing their opponents. Fitz-Jim rounded off the game with a powerful strike to make it 3-0. Thanks to the win, Ajax now sits second in the league standings.
