Ajax control the game to beat AZ and reach the final

Title-holders Ajax qualified for the final of the Dutch Cup on Thursday evening. In Alkmaar, the Eredivisie leaders beat AZ 0-2. Steven Berghuis and Davy Klaassen were the scorers. Ajax will face PSV in the final on April 17.

With a cup goal difference of twenty for and none against, twenty-time cup winners Ajax can now prepare for their 27th cup final on Easter Sunday in De Kuip.

Exactly one year after Ajax qualified for the previous final, the circumstances on Thursday were very different - from empty stadiums, because of the corona pandemic, last year to a full stadium in Alkmaar. A full Kuip awaits for PSV – Ajax in the final. Just after 22:00hr, the Ajax players celebrated the victory with their travelling fans.
