Baboeram Panday is expected to take up his post on February 1, 2025. A shareholder Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) will be convened shortly, at which Ajax shareholders will be formally notified of this proposed appointment.

Shashi Baboeram Panday (born in Utrecht, May 8, 1979) is currently Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Talpa Holding and Talpa Network. He has worked at Talpa since 2007, and before that he worked at Deloitte Accountants for seven years. The current financial director at Ajax, Susan Lenderink, announced on September 13 her intention to leave Ajax. With a view to a smooth handover, the Supervisory Board has agreed with her that she will remain in office until March 1, 2025 at the latest.

On behalf of the Supervisory Board, Chair Michael van Praag explained: "Several groups of people have been having conversations with Shashi. He comes across as well-informed, reliable and full of energy. If you have been working at Talpa for many years, it shows you are loyal and you know what it means to work in a rapidly changing environment. These happen to be qualities we could do well to have at Ajax. One added bonus is that he is regularly seen in the stands at Ajax. All in all, we believe we have found a very worthy successor to Susan."

Shashi Baboeram Panday: "Ajax came as a complete surprise to me. As a lover of football and fan of the club, I simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to become financial director here. There are quite a few parallels to be drawn between the media sector where I currently work, and Ajax. Especially when it comes to dynamics which is what I like. I'm very much looking forward to getting started and working with my new colleagues at this great club."

Acting Managing Director Menno Geelen: "The entire board has spoken to Shashi and we are all enthusiastic about him. The Works Council also gave a thumbs-up. We see him as a fine replacement for Susan and a welcome addition to the management team. We look forward to working together in the future."
